About Karoo Angus

Karoo Angus is a family-owned and operated business, run by John Reen and his daughter Annie Scott, along with her husband Tony Scott and their son Riley. Karoo Angus has been associated with the Angus seedstock industry for over 20 years, and our aim has, and always will be, to breed cattle with balance, consistency and quality. The Karoo selection criteria has flowed on to benefit commercial producers, with Karoo-bred lines of cattle being highly sought-after and attracting premiums. We are proud to have a herd of 300 stud females, backed by 800 commercial breeders that enable us to test and build on the great traits that Angus are renowned for. Genetic progress is made by the selection of more profitable cattle and increasing the speed of genetic change through the use of AI and ET. Our cattle are bred to be high performers, without losing sight of the basics that has propelled the Angus breed to such prominence. While BREEDPLAN plays an important role in the selection of sires used, we have and will remain totally focused on the commercial reality of Australian beef production.
