An expanded 163-lot draft has been catalogued for the 18th Central Brangus Classic sale taking place at CQLX Gracemere on Friday, September 26.

To account for the increased numbers in the catalogue, this year's sale will start at the earlier time of 9am, with 15 females to be offered followed by 148 bulls.

This year's draft has been selected by 19 returning vendors, along with the Beeblee, Lagoon, and River Run Brangus studs, who will make their CBC debut in 2025.

This sale has a group of vendors who, each year, are committed to presenting a quality catalogue of Brangus bulls and females.

Most vendors not only have studs but also run commercial Brangus herds, thereby ensuring that a primary focus is maintained on producing and offering for sale cattle that will meet the requirements and specifications of marketability through desired carcase traits.

Nutrien Livestock sale agent Julian Laver said this combined draft is a high-quality lineup of bulls and heifers.

"There will be a lot to suit anyone, from the stud breeder to the small-scale commercial operator," Mr Laver said.

"CBC is an unreserved priced sale, which I believe is a great attraction to buyers; they can bid to their limit and won't have an animal passed in on them."

The CBC sale attracts buyers from throughout Queensland, predominantly Central Queensland. Their support for the sale was evident in the better-than-expected result achieved for the 2024 sale, considering the dry conditions and tough cattle market at the time.

Overall, bidders purchased 121 cattle out of 134 on offer, for a 90 per cent clearance rate, and an average price of $10,189, while the top-priced bull sold for $34,000.

For a further breakdown, twenty vendors sold 109 out of 120 bulls, for an average price of $10,009, while 11 of 14 females sold for an average of $4571 and a top price of $7000.

This clearance rate was up on the 2023 result, which saw 88pc of the lots cleared at an average price of $8785.

Mr Laver said climatic conditions for 2025 as a whole throughout Central Queensland have been "quite good".

All bulls in the 2025 sale catalogue will be pre-treated for easy movement to clean areas.

All Bulls will be weighed and EMA scanned, and a supplementary sheet will be available on Thursday, September 25, when presale inspections are held at the saleyards from 4pm onwards.

"Buyers can attend this sale with confidence in the knowledge that all sale lots have been selected, examined and inspected to a high standard.

"The vendors are happy to help with the delivery of purchased lots to their destinations, within the Central Queensland area."
