NSW dominance in the Fleckview ring given a shake by Aubigny enthusiast
NSW dominance in the Fleckview ring at last year's Royal Queensland Show was given a shake on Saturday, August 9, when a bull from the Toowoomba region who "ticks all the boxes" was judged the senior and grand champion bull.
Trinity Vale Unforgettable, a 870-kilogram entry aged 21 months, with an eye muscle area of 131 square centimetres and 9mm on the P8 site and 7mm on the rib site took the tri-coloured ribbon.
Its owner, Malcolm Walker, Aubigny, said the bull was bought as a calf from Trinity Vale Queen of Hearts, which had won grand championships at Ekka and Beef week in Rockhampton and a reserve champion female sash at the International World Series.
Unforgettable was sired by BFG Grendioso.
Mr Walker was delighted with the result and said it had shown potential from an early age.
"It was calf champion at the Lismore Fleckvieh feature show, and it won a junior championship at the national show, at Casino and the Ekka in 2024," he said.

"It also won at Dalby and was reserve junior champion at Beef 24."
Judge, Clermont cattleman and auctioneer, Wayne York said the decision-making process between Unforgettable and the junior champion male proved a challenge.
"He was such a soft-skinned, fleshy bull, a beautiful, broad muzzle and a hooded eye.
"He had plenty of neck, with a big rib on him and a deep hindquarter.
The junior bull was Stone Ridge Von Dutch, shown by Stone Ridge Livestock, Eumungerie in NSW's central west.
"He has such muscle smoothness a sire potential, you could sell weaners from him or grow them out to bullocks," Mr York said.
Aged almost 16 months, it weighed 662kg and had an EMA of 111square centimetre.
The reserve champion senior bull was Wondenia-Denmire Ulysses, sired by Knox Ransom from Brenair Park Woupy, shown by Country Sand and Concrete, Gilgandra, NSW.
The reserve junior bull was Wondenia-Denmire Vilux, sired by Trinity Vale Radar Love from Trinity Vale Nu Vogue.
Cooplee Uptown Girl, sired by Fgaf Guerrero from Clay Gully Qld Reign, was the senior and grand champion female.
It was shown by Ben Gould, Casino, NSW, who was delighted with the result.
Mr Gould said it had chalked up reserve championships at Lismore and Casino and brought home a swag of ribbons from northern NSW shows.
Once again, Mr York was torn between his choice for the grand broad ribbon, which was between two likeable females, demonstrating smooth muscle patterns, wonderful femininity, great angulation and very feminine.
However, the senior female with a calf at her foot carried the day.

The junior female, Wondenia-Denmire Vanity, was the youngest in all of the Fleckview showing, just 10 months, but was stacked with breeding potential, the judge said.
It was sired by Tennyson Vale Tommy from Wondenia Pizzaz, and shown by Country Sand and Concrete, Gilgandra, NSW.
The reserve senior female was Trinity Vale Razzamatazz, shown by Kingaroy breeder, Trevor Anderson.
The reserve junior female was Stone Ridge Vienna, shown by Stone Ridge Livestock, Eumungerie, NSW.
Country Sand and Concrete showed the winning breeders' group, with Stoen Ridge placed second.
Mr York only had a small number of cattle to work through, 15 compared with 32 last year, but he said his major prizewinners could hold their own within the national beef industry.
"I was pretty impressed, actually," Mr York said.
"A lot of them were industry-focused and very few structural issues. So that's very good."
