Inaugural Triple B Northern Production Sale attracts buyers from far and wide

Triple B Brangus is celebrating the success of its first Northern Production Sale at Dalrymple Saleyards, Charters Towers.

At the auction on Friday, February 28, 61 of 63 Brangus bulls sold to a $22,000 high, gross of $400,000 and an average of $6557 for a 97 per cent clearance.

Vendors Lindsay and Fiona Barlow, Triple B stud, Dingo witnessed a complete clearance at days end to a wide geographical area of the state.

The day's pace setter at $22,000 was 26-month-old, Triple B Tucker T484 (Belview Fleet Street M206).

Weighing 772 kilograms, the sale topper had P8 and rib fat measurements of 9 and 8 millimetres, respectively, an eye muscle area of 131 square centimetres, and intramuscular fat of 6.8pc.

Taking home the sale topper were Joe and Doris Galea, Brightly, Eton.

Next best was the $16,000 Triple B Turret T152 (Triple B Platinum P552).

At 29 months, the bull weighed 702 kilograms and had P8 and rib fat measurements of 9 and 6 millimetres, respectively, an eye muscle area of 120 square centimetres, and intramuscular fat of 5.5pc.

He sold to Colin Kime, Amaroo stud, Nebo. Amaroo took a trio for an average of $10,000.

Major players in the market were Hannan Mason Pastoral Company, Mt Coolon taking 24 head for on average $5083.

Paul and Catherine Mackenzie, Coolmaringa, Dingo secured a trio for and $11,000 average topping at $15,000 for Triple B Technology T517 (Bonox Millionaire 1138).

The 28-month-old, weighed 804 kilograms had P8 and rib fat measurements of 12 and 8 millimetres respectively, an eye muscle area of 131 square centimetres, intramuscular fat of 5.5pc.

Coolmaringa will also be the home of an $11,000 son of Triple B Neptune N219, aged 28 months.

Gitten Family Trust, Poinsetta, Rubyvale took a pair to average them $8500 topping at $10,000 for a 28-month-old by the homebred retainee, Triple B Navigator N230.

Lenera Farm, Ilbilbie signed off on three for a $8667 average.

These topped at $14,000 for a 29-month-old sired by Triple B Navigator N203 scaling 768 kilograms, had P8 and rib fat measurements of 8 and 5 millimetres, respectively, an eye muscle area of 136 square centimetres, intramuscular fat of 5.4pc.

Andrew and Lucille Angel, Mossvale Station, Bogie, took a $10,000 son of Triple B Neptune N219 and, in the process, purchased a pair for, on average, $7500.

M and J Green Enterprises, Leslew Down, Richmond took a trio for on average $5333 while One Mile Grazing, Hughenden purchased four for on average $5750.
