Canberra Royal 2025: Brahman breed judging results

A young Victorian breeder new to Brahmans showed off his cattle during the breed judging at the 2025 Royal Canberra Show claiming supreme exhibit.

GTM Miss M Mason, exhibited by the Gurnett Family, Kerang East, Vic, was awarded the title by judge Peter Collins, Merridale Angus, Tennyson, Vic.

The 15-month-old junior and grand champion female was sired by GTM Nelson Mason and out of GTM Miss Mason 87.

Harrison Gurnett, 14, said she stands up well.

"She's got quite a long body for a Brahman, usually they have a short body," he said.

"She's got a nice good hump on her too for her age."

Mr Collins said she was very good across the top and had very good udder development.

Mr Gurnett said the family had not long started breeding Brahmans, with five breeders so far.

He said this was her first show, and would not be her last before probably going to use her over GTM MR DK Mason, a bull they also exhibited at Canberra.

The 15-month-old bull, 448 kilograms, was the junior and grand champion bull.
