A bull that has taken the show ring by storm continues his success in the Hereford ring at the 2025 Royal Canberra Show, rising above 33 other exhibits.

"You're either going to love him or hate him," Judge David Bolton said when awarding the supreme Hereford exhibit ribbon to JTR Unleashed U033 exhibited by JTR Cattle Company, Roslyn.

"Is this fella too big? I don't think so," he said.

"Look at the soundness, the depth of thigh in the bull."

"He has an old-fashioned thigh in a modern frame, with the front end, the rear and his head carriage.

"I just love this big bull, not everyone's going to like him, but we're still getting paid by cents per kilogram.

"I really believe this stud job, we can breed them up a bit, and geez, there is a lot of power in this bloke.

"He has that soft fleshing ability, with a calf head but yet so much presence and size."

The 19-month-old bull was awarded junior champion bull, before going on to be awarded grand champion bull and then winning the top ribbon over the grand champion grand Ivy Bank Eclipse S28, exhibited by Bond Poll Herefords, Tumut.

Sired by Tycloah Queenscliff N029 and out of GFC Bolt Vanity the young sire weighed 804 kilograms.

He continues his successful show career off the back of winning grand champion Hereford bull at Crookwell show just a fortnight ago.

Jemma Reid, co-principal of JTR Cattle company said they've had an exciting Canberra Royal Show.

"It's the first time I believe JTR has taken out Hereford supreme exhibit at Canberra," she said.

"So, that's really exciting and to have our kids Harry and Molly here celebrating with us is awesome.

"The bull he his probably the best we've breed."

"He won the jackpot yesterday so that was a huge thrill for us as well, but it was really nice to see him follow up his success in the breed judging today.

The family plan on taking Unleashed U033 to Dubbo National Hereford bull sale in july, after travelling to Sydeny Royal in April.

"We bought Wirunna Golden Vanity M261 and she was supreme Hereford at Sydney Royal Show in 2021 and his mother was the calf at foot then," Mrs Reid said.

"So there is some really good breeding there and we're really proud of him."

The grand champion female title was awarded to a first calving cow, Ivy Bank Eclispe S28, exhibited by Bond Poll Hereford stud, Tumut.

The three and a half year old cow was sired by Kanimbla Power Quest Q006 and out of Ivy Bank Eclipse P019, and was exhibited with a TH Masterplan 183F bull calf at foot.

Mr Bolton said the cow calved at 25-months of age and he loved the cow.

"If we could all have udders like that, the longevity of the Whiteface breed would be absolutely fantastic," he said.

"She has shorter teats, beautiful floored udder and these cows need them.

"She's big topped when she steps out on the grass, she just has some presence about her, and a lovely bull calf by he side.

"I can't tell you how much I love that udder on that cow."

The young female went up against the junior champion female Kianma Last Day V004, exhibited by Kianma Poll Herefords, Forbes, for the grand champion female title, while Legacy Unit U016, exhibited by Legacy Poll Herefords, Zeerust, Vic was awarded the senior champion bull ribbon.
