Nutrien Classic heats up as day three sets new top price for 2025 sale

Strong prices continued throughout Saturday on day three of the Nutrien Classic at Tamworth, with a new top set for the 2025 sale.
The sale kicked off on Thursday, reaching a top of $130,000, with Friday's offering selling to $150,000.
Mares were in demand throughout the day.
It was a four-year-old, A Sandie Blonde, who fetched the top price, selling for $180,000 to Mac and Gayle Shann, Cantaur Park, Clermont, Qld.
The mare, by Sanman and out of Nine Shades O Rey, had shown in the National Cutting Horse Association Open Futurity. She was offered by Jason and Rachel Leitch, Springsure, Qld.
Just one lot earlier, Metallic Spin, another four-year-old mare, sold for $140,000 to Ruan Grazing, Clermont, Clermont, Qld.
The Metallic Cat daughter was out of One Moore Diva. She was offered by Victorian owners R and R Livestock, The Gurdies.
Selling for $150,000 was Amac Romantic Girl, a three-year-old filly by Hazelwood Conman and out of Tassas Cowgirl 02.
She was offered by Ben and Laura McNaughton, Walcha, and sold to Bryron Syndicate.
Another Metallic Cat daughter, this time a two-year-old in Yaven Lavender Haze, sold for $145,000.
The filly was out of One Moore Romance. She sold to M and J Bloom Pty Ltd, Kootingal, and was offered by John and Jenn Corbett, Adelong.
Western Australian operation Gordon Cattle Company, Macleod, paid $80,000 early on for the three year old, Toonga Corvette, offered by Toonga Pastoral Trust, Wagga Wagga.
She was by Bonlac Gigolo and from Hazelwood Coraline.
Just a few lots later, Wilbro Hustlin Helen, by Eagle Hustler from Wilbro Stitches, sold for $70,000.
She was offered by B and W Robinson and bought by Pendine Pastoral Co, Barcaldine, Qld.
There were numerous sales above $50,000 for the mares offered.
Setting a new standard for the geldings was Game Changer, a four-year-old by Times Up from Fair Lady Flash, who sold for $100,000.
He was offered by R and M Hodgman, Glen Innes, and sold to Nutrien Roma for an undisclosed client.
Other results in the gelding run included One Stylish Chap, four years, by One Stylish Pepto and out of Freckles Spinnin Cowgirl, sold for $80,000 to Moama's CM Pastoral Co.
He was offered by Bill and Christine Matton, Dalma, Qld.
Benjamin, a son of Beniah and Destinys Fancy Jewel and offered by Parker Investments CQ, Westwood, Qld, sold for $70,000 to The Trustee for the Moy Family Trust.
Cantaur Park Braveheart, by Metallic Eclipse and out of Daddys Sweetheart, who sold for $70,000 to Nutrien Scone.
The four-year-old was offered by Tom Graham, Taroom, Qld.
Notable sales in the colts included Woody Rey Von, two years, by Stevie Rey Von and out of Baby Wood, who sold for $75,000 to the Nicholson family, Nowendoc.
He was offered by Mark and Joanne Smith, Allora, Qld.
Glenmore Livestock, Glen Innes, sold Showbiz Maverick, by Badboonarising and out of Moore Karma, for $57,500 to MacCallum Performance Horses, Wolbrook.
The sale continues on Sunday with lots 511 to 616 set to go under the hammer.
