Multiple six-figure sales as Nutrien Classic day two drew fierce bidding
Day two of the 2025 Nutrien Classic sale drew fierce bids across the final of run of horses, with multiple six-figure sales and private negotiations taking place.
The sale kicked off on Thursday and reached a top of $130,000.

Friday's sale, which included lots 156 to 335, reached a $150,000 top for Oneofakind Bad Janey, a two-year-old filly by Badaboonarising from Oneofakind Copy Cat.
She was exhibited by Central Park Helicopters Pty Ltd, Springsure, Qld, and bought by return buyer for the sale, Lisa McKinlay, Gogango, Qld.

Selling for $110,000 was the four-year-old mare Hassetts Elrey, offered by Cody Hansen and Kellie Pickersgill, Theodore, Qld.
She was by Dual Rey 02 and from Adamac Elmer and sold to MCC Performance Horses.
The four-year-old colt, CE Howl at the Boon, drew plenty of attention in the ring but was passed in for $150,000.
By Once in a Blu Boon and out of Beccys Merada, he was offered by Beljay Performance Horses, Coalstoun Lakes, Qld.

Selling privately was the colt Tyrell Park Metallic Boon, by Boons Metallic and from Tyrell Park Alil Luck.
The four-year-old was passed in for $70,000 but sold soon afterwards to Nutrien Scone for $80,000.
Other notable sales in the colts included Secretheart Stockhorses, Ben Bullen, who outlaid $65,000 for RFP Hardmoonarising, by Badboonarising from Hard Hat Kelly.
The two-year-old was exhibited by Engag Pty Ltd, Loomberah.

Selling privately for $60,000 was Banshee Candyman, exhibited by Gordon Country Enterprises Pty Ltd, Goomburra, Qld.
The two-year-old colt was by Hazelwood Conman from Hy On Cherries and sold to RM and CE Daley.
A Metallic Cat son, Business Man, exhibited by The Trustee for Hinman Family Trust, Tamworth, sold for $40,000 to Magnat Livestock Pty Ltd, Katherine, NT.

The top end of the mares also included Metallic Clover, a four-year-old offered by Jason and Rachel Leitch, Springsure, Qld, who sold for $100,000 to Westacre, Spring Creek, Qld.
She was by EB S Phalaris from Metallic Rose.
Westacre also paid $60,000 for Rickis Rebel, a three-year-old by Metallic Rebel from Osland Pastures Rick.
She was offered by Claire Murphy of Mount Isa, Qld.

Another $100,000 sale was The First Lady, by Hazelwood Congressman and from The Generals Daughter 02, who was bought by HMC Syndicate.
The four-year-old was offered by Noel Giebel, Purga, Qld.
Boonara Scrapbook, by Glencoe Last Word and out of Boonara Scrap Metal, sold for $70,000 to Camm Ag.

Freeroll Smooth Baby Wishes, by WP Smooth Talker 02 from Peelvale Wishes, sold for $55,000 to Nutrien Scone.
The two-year-old filly was exhibited by JM and BJ Fleming, Duri.
Millungeras Maria, offered by E and K Acton, Julia Creek, Qld, sold for $50,000 to BA and E Frame, Charters Towers, Qld.
The four-year-old was by Millungeras Moon Beam and from Soda Marion.

Novella Pow Pow, a three-year-old mare exhibited by Jess Smith of Novella Enterprises Pty Ltd, Balmattum, Vic, was passed in for $35,000 but sold privately soon after for $40,000.
She was by Yinbarun Replica from Clarkes Stud Perfect Gun and sold to Christine Dennis, Rockhampton, Qld.
In the geldings, the Logan Family Cattle Trust, Drayton, Qld, outlaid $55,000 for Revyn On, a four-year-old by Stevie Rey Von out of Shortys Prescription.
The buckskin was exhibited by Brooke Deasy, Bony Mountain, Qld.

KJA Hello Mello, a four-year-old by Meteles Cat from Stylish Mello, was knocked down late in the day for $47,500.
The gelding was exhibited by Ally Graham, Taroom, Qld, and bought by Valley View, Twisp, WA.
Another $47,500 sale was again a four-year-old in Dandified, by Beniah and from Tassas Dandy Roll.
He was bought by 8BN Pty Ltd, Gracemere, Qld, and exhibited by Chloe Lough, Maryborough, Qld.
Starboy Play Badge, exhibited by Jessica Spoor, Jambin, Qld, sold for $40,000 to Ryan Wallen, Gatton, Qld.
The three-year-old gelding was by Peptos Gotta Secret from Starbar Sugar Lena.
The sale continues on Saturday and Sunday with a total of 616 lots catalogued.
