Karragarra Simmentals' $1.62m result at Emerald sale driven by strong demand
Simmentals sold to $32,500 while their yearling counterparts fetched sums of $32,000 and black phenotypes hit $20,000 to average $15,733 at the annual Karragarra Simmental sale, held at Emerald on September 24.
Vendors, Wayne and Ingrid York, Karragarra stud, Emerald witnessed another complete clearance for their 103 bulls that found homes right across Queensland.
Market topper at $32,500 was the 23-month-old, seven-eighths blood bull, Karragarra 881 (PP).
The son of Lucrana Legend (P) weighed 926 kilograms producing a scan of 11 and 8 millimetres for P8 and rib respectively, and an eye muscle area measurement of 132 square centimetres.
Taking the sale topper was Lindsay Russell, Mount Macquarie, Blackall.
Top-selling yearling bull, Karragarra 952 (P), 20 months of age, made $32,000, selling to Chas and Judy Nobbs, Cordelia, Moura.
Karragarra Black V57 (PP) was the top-selling black Simmental entry at $20,000 selling to Ken and Lauren Perrett, Barakee, Springsure.
