Cloncurry bull sale achieves total clearance with a $28,000 top price

Another complete clearance was achieved at the annual Cloncurry Bull Sale, on Tuesday, April 21.
Vendors Darren and Helen Childs, Glenlands D prefix, Theodore, together with Eddie and Sharon Maxwell, Crown M stud, Julia Creek, saw all 99 lots clear for an average $8485.
Last year, the sale witnessed a complete clearance for a top of $24,500 to average $6157.
The offering was again supported from a vast geographical area encompassing the central, north and north western areas of Queensland.
Sale topper at $28,000 was Glenlands D 11812 (IVF) (P) (AI).
The two-year-old weighed in at 800 kilograms and delivered scans of 10mm and 6mm, respectively for P8 and rib fat, 140 square centimetres for eye muscle area, and 4.4 per cent for an intramuscular fat recording.
Taking the top seller sired by Glenlands D Alabama (P) was Bill Darcy and family, Clifton Park Station, Julia Creek.
Clifton Park signed off on two for on average $22,500.

Next best at $26,000 was the 24-month-old, Glenlands D 11820 (IVF) (AI) (P).
Sired by Glenlands D Whodat (P), that bull weighed 894kg and delivered scans of 12mm and 8mm, respectively, for P8 and rib fat, 144sq cm for eye muscle area, and 4.1pc for an intramuscular fat recording.
Taking the entry was Mark Fegan and family, Clentbury Enterprise, McKinlay.
The Fegan family backed the catalogue offering, securing a line of 13 for a $10,846 average.
Another Alabama son hitting the headlines was the $25,000 Glenlands D 11822 (IVF) (P) (AI).
Weighing 738kg, Glenlands D 11822 delivered scans of 10mm and 7mm, respectively, for P8 and rib fat, 141sqm for eye muscle area, and 5.0pc for an intramuscular fat reading.
Buying the bull as their only selection were Banana seedstock breeders, Rob and Carly Johnstone, Dawsonvale stud.
Major support came from Charlie and Jackie Hawkins and family, Herbertvale Station, Camooweal, taking 14 for a $8429 average.
Lindsay and Neil Miller and family, Undilla Station, Camooweal took 10 for a $7200 average while Luke Spreadborough, Spreadborough Pastoral Company, Spoonbill Station, Julia Creek, returned, taking another 12 for an average $5333.
Alex Stubbs, Ti Tree Farm, Malanda, also returned, taking a pair for an $11,000 average.
Iain Scholes, Braemar Investments, Lighthouse Station, Blackall, was another to return, taking nine for an average $8222.
Peter and Carol Davies, The Nobbies, Cloncurry, were back, selecting four for an average $10,500.
The Winsper family, Tewinga and Korong Stations, Cloncurry, selected four for a $10,000 average.
Andrew McLeod, Mindi, Cloncurry, took a trio for a $6000 average while Elders Cloncurry, acting for clients, outlaid $15,000 for a 27-month-old poll son of Glenlands D Cruz (P).
Ashley Smith, Strathroy Station, Hughenden, selected a pair for a $8500 average with Weemabah Pty Ltd, Wathopa, Hungerford, purchasing the same number for a $7000 average.
