Fewer bulls sold for the starting price of $5000 at this year's Droughtmaster National Sale at CQLX Gracemere, than at any of the past six auctions.

Queensland Country Life data, based on bulls sold at the fall of the hammer across the two days of selling on Tuesday, September 16, and Wednesday, September 17, showed there were 49 bulls that sold for $5000, compared with 63 the year prior.

Just over 51pc of the bulls that sold made over $10,000, which was up a little more than 3pc on last year.

This was reflected in the median price of $11,000, which was on par with last year.

The largest portion of bulls, 106 head or 33 per cent, were sold for $5001 to $10,000.

There were 17 fewer bulls that sold for $10,001 to $15,000 year on year, but there was a 17-head rise in the bulls making $15,001 to $20,000.

Much of the rest of the sale results remained unchanged, except for the $40,001 to $100,000 price range, where there were an extra five bulls that made those values in 2025 compared to 2024.

Only 15 of 76 prefixes met the overall sale average at the fall of the hammer.

There were around 221 bid cards registered across the two days of selling with about another 110 via online platforms.

In terms of agents, Elders averaged $19,532, GDL averaged $14,592, and Nutrien averaged $10,550.
