Oasis A bull rewrites Droughtmaster National record price: all the results

A 23-month-old bull from the Geddes family has rewritten the record books at the Droughtmaster National Sale on Wednesday, September 17.

Oasis A Cracker Jack sold for $280,000 to Huntly Droughtmasters, Clermont, just after 11.10am after bidding opened at $40,000.

It marked a new Droughtmaster National Sale record, which was previously set at $220,000 in 2022 for Oasis A Long John.

Cracker Jack was a homozygous poll son of Hamadra Harley and Oasis A Boom Town and presented at 1015 kilograms with a 151 square centimetre eye muscle area and 5.1 per cent intramuscular fat.

Other major sales for the stud included Oasis A Goddam, $120,000 to Fernie Cattle Co, Blackwater and Oasis A Ace of Hearts, who sold for $100,000 to Waylanbar J, Emerald.

In the end, Oasis A averaged $72,884 for their 13 bulls.

In total, over two days, 328 of 384 bulls sold for an 85 per cent clearance and $16,315 average.

Last year, over two days, 326 of 373 bulls were sold for a clearance of 88 per cent.

They averaged $14,595, topping at $120,000.
