Sara Park and Duddy Angus record equal top bids at Glen Innes bull sale

Sara Park and Duddy Angus recorded one of their best results on farm at Pinkett via Glen Innes on Friday.
The full offering of 66 sires sold to a 100 per cent clearance and topped at $24,000 three times to record a very healthy average of $13,183.
Marcus and Kate Laurie, Midas Cattle Co with country at Hillgrove via Armidale and more recently at Buckandor, Red Range, bought four bulls to average $18,500 and reach the equal top price of $24,000 for Sara Park Ugene U80 by the $85,000 Millah Moonshine R256.
A favourite sire of studmaster Herb Duddy the two year old weighed in on sale day at 908 kilograms with a 43 centimetre scrotal circumference, 16mm and 10mm of fat on the rib and rump with a 132 square centimetre eye muscle area to scan at 7.8 per cent intra muscular fat - the equal highest of the draft.
Mr Laurie said the bulls would spend time at Buckandor, not far from Pinkett, to go over Angus cows - part of a 1000 strong breeding herd - to produce calves for a variety of markets from weaners to feeders and kill cattle, including grown steers and heifers under the Farm Assurance program offered under the JBS banner.
The repeat client described the Sara Park bulls as "honest cattle with plenty of growth".
"Herb is a good judge of cattle with a traditional base and a good eye for quality," he said.
