The largest number of studs on display for the final day of 2025 Beef Week

This years The Land Southern Beef Week comes to a close with the largest number of studs opening their gates to visitors on Saturday August 2.

A total of 13 studs will be open for inspection from Moss Vale and Marulan, to Taralga, Crookwell, Roslyn, Lake Bathurst, through to Bungendore and down the Clyde mountain to Bodalla and Coolagolite.

As the week wraps up overall there has been 30 studs open their gates during the week from the Riverina to the Central West, through to the Southern Highland and the South West Slopes.

Please note that Billaglen Angus, Braidwood, has withdrawn for the final day.

Hillview Angus - Bungendore

Danny Hill (picture above), Hillview Angus, Bungendore, has developed into a herd of 120 fertile, easy- calving, medium to large frame breeders producing docile progeny.

The program focuses on profitable cattle with strong growth and carcase performance. Hillviews bulls are structurally sound, well-muscled and exceed breed average growth rates.

Sires represented throughout this years draft include GB Fireball 672, LD Capitalist 316, Pine View Mogul G241, Hillview Quiglry Q18 and Millah Murrah Paratrooper P15.

Charlton Park Mandalong Specials - Coolagolite

Established in 2017, Charlton Park Mandalong Specials may be a small but progressive stud, focusing on breeding practical, functional breed cattle.

The cattle are expected to perform in all conditions and raise a calf every year. The operations steers have performed at the numerous carcase competitions.

The young family operation's cattle attract repeat purchasers in the saleyards.

Summit Livestock - Roslyn

The sixth-generation farming family raise Angus and Limousin cattle alongside their commercial herd, calving down 550 females annually.

The young family focus on breeding cattle that are functional and give some peace of mind on the traits that matter to the bottom line.

At the recent World Angus Forum Angus Expo, the program was awarded both grand champion pen of females and reserve grand champion pen of bulls.

On display will be working-age Angus bulls throughout the day.

The Pines Angus - Moss Vale

Since 2000, The Pines Angus has used genetics from the United States to broaden the bloodlines within the operation, to strengthen both the autumn and spring calving groups.

This year on display will be rising two-year-old and yearling bulls, specialised for heifer joining, maternal triats and high growth.

Greenleaf Angus - Crookwell

While having over 26 years of breeding Angus cattle, Greenleaf Angus aim to produce cattle naturally tough cattle with strong constitution which is demanded by the harsh winters.

The family-run operation focuses on key commercial triats such as fertility, calving ease, natural thickness, weight gain and carcase quality.

Proven cow lines within the program include Rosebud, Daisy, Burnette, Doris, Champange, and Princess.

This years sale bull draft are sons of Sterling Pacific, Mandayan Reebok, Millah Murrah Nectar and Clunie range Queenslander.

Myanga Angus - Chatsbury

After breeding Angus cattle for more than 20 years, Myanga Angus focuses on structure, fertility and temperament as a foundation of the program over the years.

The 2024 drop features genetics focused on structure with strong growth and good temperament.

Sire lines on display on the draft of sale bulls are Hoffman Thedford, Myanga Scout S130, BIGK/ WSC Iron Horse 025F, Ardrossan Southern Cross S362, Stoney Point Quiche Q245, and HPCA Veracious.

Ashgrove Angus, Lynbrook Limousins and Gundungarra Angus - Moss Vale

Ashgrove Angus - Established on 2022 with the purchase of embryos from Texas Angus in the state's north.

Ashgrove Angus aims to source the best possible cow families from right around the world and breed them to the best bulls possible to breed Angus cattle with show ring phenotype and high genomic EBVS.

The program's goal is to breed Angus cattle that will work in every system.

Lynbrook Limousins - While established in 2018 on strong maternal female lines from Birubi Limousins, Summit Livestock and Warrigal Limousins, Lynbrook Limousins utlises some of the best bulls around the world.

While only being a new stud, Lynbrook has bred and owned champions and reserve champions at Sydney, Canberra and Melbourne royal shows, Including the 2024 Royal Canberra Show supreme exhibit.

Gundungarra Angus - Home of Millah Murrah Tiny Dancer T348, a son of Millah Murrah Rocket Man, who sold for $70,000 and Millah Murrah Abigail M293.

The program will have herd sireds available for inspection, along with two Woodhill Commstock sons who are for private sale.

Bannaby Angus- Taralga

Glynn Langford and the team at Bannaby Angus, Bendick Murrell, will have on display this year's 81 sale bulls at their Bendick Murrell-based operation.

The program focuses on calving ease, strong growth, superior carcase characteristics and structural correctness throughout the herd.

In this year's draft of bulls, there will be many options for heifer bulls recommended by the stud themselves, with sons of Alpine Real Deal R163, Chiltern Park Moe M6 and Millah Murrah Rebrandt R48 on offer, as well as international sires Ellingson Three Rivers 8062 and Baldridge 38 Special.

Redbank Angus - Bodalla

Over the years, Bodalla-based Redbank Angus have carefully selected female lines to give pedigrees that are on the forefront of the Angus beef industry.

Some of the female lines present in the sale bulls include Millah Murrah Flower, Millah Murrah Brenda, Millah Murrah Prue, Vermont Dream Y301, Blackbird, Te Mania Lowan, Bara and more.

Spring Hill Angus - Lake Bathurst

Spring Hill Angus are passionate about their breeding programs with 40 bulls up for auction on August 22.

Sires represented in the sale will include Ellingson Three Rivers 8062, Spring Hill Sav Pacific P14, Schiefelbein Showman 338, Bruns Blaster, and Spring Hill Monumental R121, as well as EG Eyes Onyou and Kidman Precedence Q3.

Circle 8 Bulls - Marulan

For 34 years, the priority for Cirlce 8 has been to focus on the key traits of economic significance, fertility, calving ease, carcase yield and quality.

This year will be the studs final on-property bulls sale, with these being the best draft the family have presented, being thick made and stout, with well balanced data.
