Find out who won the broadribbons at the 64th Dubbo National Poll Hereford show

The judges praised the quality of both the bulls and females on offer at the 64th Dubbo National Poll Hereford show on July 1.

Tim and Jemma Reid's JTR Cattle Co, Roslyn, had a strong show, claiming grand champion bull with JTR Unleashed U033.

The July-2023 drop rose through the senior classes under judges Kelly and Teeny Runzer, Merawah Poll Herefords, Boggabilla.

By Tycolah Queenscliff N029 and from GFC Bolt Vanity, he weighed 1020 kilograms and scanned 23 and 17 millimetres over the rib and rump, respectively, with 137 square centimetres eye muscle area and 37cm scrotal circumference.

The bull had previously won at Canberra Royal and was also sashed reserve senior champion at Sydney.

Mr Runzer praised his scale and said the bull was the complete package.

"You wouldn't change anything," he said.

JTR retained semen.

Reserve senior bull went to Llandillo Undertaker U68, exhibited by Llandillo Poll Herefords, The Lagoon.

Undertaker U68, 892kg at 26 months, was also by Queenscliff and from Llandillo Julie P034. He scanned 15mm rib, 9mm rump, 130sq cm EMA and 40cm scrotal.

JTR claimed the champion intermediate bull with JTR Unlimited U055, by Canadian sire Harvie OVHF Medcalfe 55J and from Wirruna Golden Vanity M261.

The August-2023 drop, 980kg, measured 21mm and 16mm over the rib and rump with 138sq cm EMA and 38cm scrotal.

Reserve went to Kalnee Park Uprise U003, 870kg, by Weetaliba Roman R010 and from Kalnee Park Gem J8.

He was exhibited by Kalnee Pastoral Co, Wellington. The 22 month old had 140sq cm EMA, 40cm scrotal, and 14mm and 10mm rib and rump fat.

In the junior bulls, Pinnacle Midnight Special U004, exhibited by Big Show Cattle Co, Forbes, rose to claim champion.

The October-2023 drop, 936kg, scanned 25mm rib, 17mm rump, 128sq cm EMA and 38cm scrotal.

He was by Tycolah Tedesco R032 and from Llandillo WFC Nora.

Reserve was Glenalvie Unexpected U304, exhibited by Glenalvie Pastoral, Geurie.

The November-2023 drop, 770kg, scanned 20mm rib fat, 14mm rump, 120sq cm EMA, and 37cm scrotal. He was also by Weetaliba Roman R010 and from Round Mount Nancy N701.

Mr Runzer noted the quality of the champions and said it was an impressive lineup of bulls throughout the show.

"Our three champions were almost identical," he said.

"They were beautiful in the flank, right from junior, intermediate, senior.

"Their feet were good, their hindquarters were amazing, they were tidy underneath. They were basically identical."

In the females, senior and eventual grand champion went to Armada Esther U2 3RD, exhibited by the Rayner family, Hargraves.

The September-2023 drop was by Wirruna Qureshi Q074 and from Armada Esther N084.

Reserve senior champion was LH S421 Fern U623, exhibited by Leeway Herefords, Ootha.

She was by Swanvale Kalimna R023 and from LH Q914 Fern S421.

Junior champion went to Kianma Princess V015, exhibited by the Martin family of Kianma Poll Herefords, Forbes.

The May-2024 drop was by Tarcombe Larry T063 and from Kianma Princess S024.

Reserve junior champion was Eclipse Irish Rose V003, exhibited by Emily Taylor, Quipolly.

The Injemira Robert Redford Q287 daughter, 14 months, was from Ravensdale Irish Rose N264.

"The junior champion is probably the heifer-show type - she's put together good but not the capacity that the senior champion had," Mr Runzer said.

"The senior champion just put the full package together."

The president's shield went to Ironbark Glen, Oberon. Pictured is Adam Camilleri, judge Kelly Runzer, Boggabilla, Nathan Stevens, Teeny Runzer, Shantelle Lord, The Land, and Vic Camilleri. Picture by Rebecca Nadge

The president's shield was won by Ironbark Glen, Oberon, with Llandillo in second and Supple Whiteface, Guyra, in third.

Ironbark Glen was also recognised as the most successful exhibitor.
