Steeds for all ages and levels of experience will be offered at the Elders Ag-Grow Elite Horse Sale from 8am on Friday, June 27.

In all, 72 lots, encompassing 36 geldings and 36 mares, have been selected for the sale, which has continued to increase in popularity over the years.

Elders Stuck Stock sale agent Anthony Ball said the horses would suit the skill levels of all riders, from novices to professionals, and for every member of the family.

The growing interest in the sale was reflected in last year's result, where a record price of $56,000 was achieved for Excee Smoko Queen.

In total, 74 horses sold for a gross of $956,000 and an average of $12,918 at the 2024 sale.

"While the record top price was wonderful to see, horses sold into several price brackets along the way," Mr Ball said.

"There were many bidders active on the day due to the affordability and consistency of the lots presented."

Stocklive will be an option for those who can't attend the sale in person but wish to watch the sale unfold and make bids.

MOST CAPTIVATING CAMPDRAFT ACTION

Competitors will vie for $24,500 in cash and prizes at the Elders AG-Grow Elite Campdraft, to be held on Wednesday, June 25, from 11am.

This event will also act as a preview of how these horses will perform when purchased from the Elders Elite AG-Grow Horse Sale on Friday, June 27, as only horses entered in the sale may compete in the campdraft.

Mr Ball said Elders and the AG-Grow committee was thrilled to introduce this event in conjunction with the horse sale and were eager to witness the talent showcased by competitors from across Queensland at this year's event.

"Pre-workouts to be held on Thursday, June 26, from 11am, will give onlookers another chance to see these horses in action prior to the sale," Mr Ball said.

"Not all horses in the sale are in the campdraft, but all will be active in the pre-workouts."

For the campdraft, all riders will compete together across two initial rounds in which $6000 in cash and prizes will be awarded to the riders who place first through sixth.

The final round will see $14,000 in cash and prizes awarded to those who finish first through sixth.

The rider who places first in the final round will receive $6000 and the Elders AG-Grow Elite Campdraft belt buckle, among other prizes.

Mr Ball said that due to encouragement for the event via sponsor support and the Central Highlands community, Elders staff and the AG-Grow committee had worked hard to ensure the event was an improvement on 2024.

"These works have included extending the campdraft arena and improving the arena surface."

Those who are unable to make the journey to Emerald can view footage of the individual horses being put through their paces on Stocklive, where they can also make bids during the sale.

The sale catalogue can be viewed on the Elders, Stocklive and AG-Grow websites.
