Clermont buyer makes big mark at Cloncurry Bull Sale

Another complete clearance was achieved at the Annual Cloncurry Bull Sale, on Tuesday.

Vendors, Darren and Helen Childs, Glenlands D prefix, Theodore together with Eddie and Sharon Maxwell, Crown M stud, Julia Creek saw all 121 clear for on average $6157.

The offering was supported from a vast geographical area encompassing the central, north and north western areas of Queensland and the Northern Territory.

Sale topper at $24,500 was Glenlands D 30392.

The 20-month-old hit the scales at 852 kilograms and delivered scans of 12mm and 10mm, respectively, for P8 and rib fat, 135 square centimetres for eye muscle area, and 5.3 per cent for an intramuscular fat recording.

Taking the top seller sired by the first season sire, Glenlands D Crodile Tears was Huntley Station, Clermont.

Huntley signed off on six for on average $14,200.

The draft also included the second top seller was the $15,500 for the artificially produced product, Glenlands D 10746.

At 27-months-old the bull weighed 824 kilograms and delivered scans of 8mm and 6mm, respectively, for P8 and rib fat, 140 square centimetres for eye muscle area, and 5.4 per cent for an intramuscular fat recording.

Glenlands D 11140 sold for $13,500.

The 23-month-old sired by Glenlands D Blade Runner weighed 728 kilograms and delivered scans of 9mm and 6mm, respectively, for P8 and rib fat, 141 square centimetres for eye muscle area, and 4.8 per cent for an intramuscular fat reading.

Taking home the bull was John Lund, Windradene, Clermont. Windradene will be the home of two for a $9750 average.

Herd bulls topped out at $19,000.

Sectional leader was an individual aged between 22 to 25 months, posting a scale weight of 894 kilograms, scans of 10mm and 8mm, respectively, for P8 and rib fat, 148 square centimetres for eye muscle area, and 4.4 per cent for an intramuscular fat result.

Taking home the entry was Hale River Cattle Company, Hale River Station, Alice Springs, which ended with a pair to average them $12,500.

Lester Maclean, Denby, Baralaba signed off on a pair for a $9500 average topping at $11,000 for a herd bull.

Major support came from Austrex Brisbane taking 28 head for a $5036 average.

Olivevale Pastoral Company selected 15 for a $4933 average while Andy Hayes, The Garden Station, Alice Springs signed off on 12 for on average $6708 topping at $10,000.

James Spreadborough, Spreadborough Pastoral Company, Spoonbill Station, Julia Creek returned taking 12 for on average $4900.

Charlie and Jackie Hawkins and family, Herbertvale Station, Camooweal also returned taking six for a $5833 while Considerata Australia Pty Ltd., took with them 14 for a $5893 average.

Peter and Carol Davies, The Nobbies, Cloncurry were back selecting a trio for on average $5167.

Also making a return was Craig Scholes, Braemar Investments, Mena Park, Blackall taking three for a $8000 average.

Peter Terry, Robin Hood Station, Forsayth purchased four for $5000 each while Alex Stubbs, Ti Tree Farm, Malanda purchased three for a $7833 average.

These topped at $10,000 herd bull son of the first season sire, Glenlands D Cheap Shot.
