Rose Hill Speckle Park sells female breeders to repeat clients and new faces

Rylstone Speckle Park stud Rose Hill sold to a top of $3500 twice for cows with purebred progeny.
The Rose Hill female production day, held online during the weekend, attracted repeat clients taking pure Speckle Park breeders north as far as the Northern Tablelands, selling nine lots to a $2888 average from 23 offered.
One of the top-priced first calf cows was Rose Hill Ariel by Rose Hill Secret's Out, a three year old with a black heifer calf by Rose Hill Kenny S35, which sold for $3500 to a new client from Stroud.
Volume buyer was MAK Ag, Gulgong, which runs a pure Speckle Park herd and bought four lots to average $3125 and top at $3500 for Rose Hill Glimmer, rising five years old, by JSF Continental 9C.
The moderate-framed, easy-doing female came with a four-month-old black bull calf, by Rose Hill Varjak T44.
A favourite female of the 14-year-old stud, Rose Hill Pussycat, sold to friend and local show steer partner Sophia Halls, who bought her second heifer from Rose Hill in this attractive and thick female, 18 month old, selling for $2500.
"We share show steers and she is such a top young lady," said stud co-principal Natelie Merz, with husband Alex Pateman.
"While we would have liked to sell them all, we are pleased with the result. It's tough in Speckles at the moment but we have to promote the data that shows outstanding carcase attributes and a role for the breed in the Australian premium domestic butcher's market.
The sale was hosted by CS Livestock, Mudgee, and offered online through Stocklive.
