Reached the Summit at Sydney: the Temptress is going back to the herd

Summit Temptress T39 has capped a remarkable showing career by winning the Supreme Exhibit rosette in the Limousin judging at Sydney Royal.
Shown by Summit Livestock, Roslyn via Crookwell, the August 1, 2022 drop female was chosen by the judge, David Smith, Ben Lomond.
"(She) is certainly a worthy winner, I think this female is outstanding," Mr Smith said.
"She has beautiful skin and hair, great outlook, volume and capacity with a good calf at foot."
T39's owners, Hayden and Jasmine Green, said T39 had enjoyed remarkable success in the show ring.
Most recently, the cow was the supreme interbreed exhibit at Canberra Royal, and in 2023, she was the supreme exhibit at the National Junior Show.
"She was judged the supreme animal exhibit at Crookwell show, beating the pigs, horses and chickens," Mr Green said.
"Now we will wean her calf and put her out in the herd. she's been in flushing programs all year."
Mrs Green sang the praises of T39 as well.
"She's such an awesome, beautiful nature, with a beautiful udder, we just had to show this cow to other people," Mrs Green said.
T39, an apricot-coloured cow, was sired by Summit Drover P54, and her dam was Summit Temptress K36. The calf at foot was a black heifer.
The reserve senior cow was Flemington Temptation T9, a February 2022 drop cow, shown by Daniel De Vecchis, Hartfield Limousins, Moorebank, on Sydney's outer southwest. It was sired by Flemington Quiet Achiever Q63 out of Flemington Frances P64.
The junior champion bull and later grand champion was Rosora Volton V3, shown by Sienna Manning, Goulburn. V3 was sired by Warrigal Queue Up Q36 out of Summit Highflyer S6.
The May 14, 2023 drop calf weighed 510 kilograms and had an eye muscle area (EMA) of 117 square centimetres with fat scans of 8mm over the rump and 5mm over the rib.
The reserve junior was Flemington Grid Iron U87, shown by the Robson family, Mount View Orchards Batlow, Flemington, Westwood.
The August 2023 drop bull was sired by Richmond Grid Iron SRD 171G out of Flemington Prunella K22. It weighed 814kg, had an EMA of 132cq/cm, 10mm of fat cover on the rump and 8mm on the rib.

The senior champion bull was Cassalee Unfinished Business an April 2023 drop, sired by Morrisvale Quad Runner out of Cassalee Peek A Boo, shown by Cassandra Coombe, Harrington Park, via Camden.
It weighed 878kg, had an EMA of 137, 14mm of fat over the rump and 10mm on the rib.
The reserve was Willow Glen Universal U2, sired by Aruma Quartz Q4 out of Willow Glen Honey, shown by Willow Glen Limousin stud, Inverell and Holy Trinity School, Inverell.
It weighed 886kg, had an EMA of 141sq/cm, 11mm of fat on the rump and 8mm on the rib.

The junior champion heifer was another from the Summit bloodlines, Summit Missive U174, but it was shown by Four Chases Limousins, Dromana, Victoria. The black September 2023 drop calf was sired by RunL Justified 364J out of Summit Missive P73.

The reserve junior female was Lynbrook Nightingale U9, shown by Annette Barham and Murray Sowter, Werai, near Sutton Forest. U9 was sired by Blamore Gryphon 930G and calved from Lynbrook Nightingale S3 in October 2023.
Ms Barham and Mr Sowter showed the inning pair of females not over 24 months, Mount View Orchards Batlow was placed second and Keajura Park Limousins, Tarcutta took third place.
Two Bulls, not over 24 months went to Mount View Orchards, Batlow, Summit Livestock was in second place and Sara and Kaitlyn Townsend, Gilgai in third.
The Sire's Progeny group went to Keajura Park Limousins with Cole Genius 34G as the only entry.
In the Dam's Progeny class, Barham and Sowter were the winners with calves from Birubi Nightingale N50; Keajura Park Limousins with Summit Krystal L35 and Keajura PArk in third place with Keajura Park Krystal Rise progeny.
The Breeder's Group went to Mount View Orchards Batlow, Summit Livestock in second place and Keajura PArk LImousins in third place.
"I had a good time judging today, it was very enjoyable," is how Mr Smith described his experience.
He complimented the Limousin breeders on the complete and functional lineup of cattle on show.
