A relatively newly established stud helmed by a Brahman breeder who hasn't exhibited at the Sydney Royal Show in 40 years has walked away with the top exhibit on Friday, April 11.

GLW Zali, exhibited by GLW Brahmans, Glendon, was awarded the top gong by judge Peter Chisea, an Elders livestock agent based in Townsville.

The 14-month-old heifer was sired by The Rivers Mandella 111 and out of Mogul Miss FH Zara.

Mr Chisea praised GLW Zali for her length, femininity, and overall shape and said she was an exceptional representation of the breed.

"She's a lovely feminine heifer, with a nice round shape," he said of the heifer when delivering his supreme exhibit judgement.

"This heifer is a great representation of the Brahman breed."

GLW Zali also took home grand champion female and junior champion female, beating out senior grand champion female Mogul Miss YV Indy N230, sired by Yenda V 412 and out of Mogul Miss KS Indy 3rd, who was exhibited by Mogul Brahman Stud, Yorklea.

She was crowned best exhibit over the grand champion bull, Blanco Ganado Yeti, a 10-month-old sired by Glengarry Overload 2850 and out of Blanco Ganado First Lady.

Blanco Ganado Yeti, exhibited by Penni Sloman and Kim Weller, Blanco Ganado Brahmans, Nabiac, was also crowned junior champion bull, with Mr Chisea praising the calf for his muscle expression, structure, and solid head.

"He's a lovely long calf with plenty of bone," Mr Chisea said of the bull.

"He's got that beautiful spring of rib and is a very handy calf for the Brahman breed."

GLW Brahmans was established three years ago by Gary Gardner and his children.

Mr Gardner hasn't exhibited at the Sydney Royal Show in 40 years, having made a return to stud Brahman breeding when his grandsons were born.

"My family's always had Brahmans in the commercial side of things," he said.

"Forty years ago, we had a little stud that we gave away, and when [my grandsons] came along, we thought we'd give it another go."

Delighted with the day's results, Mr Gardner said GLW Zali was 'unbelievable' in the ring and thanked handler Ashley Smith for leading her to victory.

"She did very well," Mr Gardner said.

"She's done a couple of little shows...she won her class at Maitland and ran third at Muswellbrook, but this is her first Royal."

The reserve senior champion female was awarded to DZT Candy Kisses, sired by Byee Scorcher out of DZT Sugar Girl and exhibited by Matthew Bower, MRB Cattle Co, Menangle.

The reserve junior champion female went to Mogul Miss EJ Michelle P293, sired by Elrose Judge 18865 out of Mogul H214 Miss G Shayne, and was exhibited by Mogul Brahman Stud.

Reserve senior champion bull was taken out by Mogul North Star, sired by Yenda V 412 and out of Mogul Miss LBH Lindelu, and exhibited by Mogul Brahman Stud.

Reserve junior champion bull went to Mogul Punchline P242, sired by Mogul Hackett and out of Mogul Miss SP Scarlett, and was also exhibited by Mogul Brahman Stud.
