Day 2 of Stock Journal Beef Week 2025 features Hills and Riverland studs
The biggest day of Stock Journal Beef Week 2025 is in the books, with beef cattle studs from the Barossa, Adelaide Hills, Fleurieu Peninsula, Murraylands and Riverland opening their gates to visitors and prospective buyers.
In total, 17 studs across 16 locations held field days displaying some of their finest bulls for sale by private selection, and in online and on-property sales.
There had been some promising sales made in the lead up to Stock Journal Beef Week 2025 and on the open day, but there was caution about what widespread dry conditions would mean for sale prospects this year.

It also sells females in May in Vic.Annie and Jordan Palmer, Boonarkm, Mount Magnificent, with son Isaac, 2, at their open day.Boonarkm are offering 12 Angus, SimAngus and Simmental bulls ÔÇô mostly 18-month-olds with three 2-year-olds and a yearling ÔÇô and a heifer in their online Cream of the Crop sale which is running from yesterday (Saturday) to tomorrow (Monday).Angus, SimAngus at Simmental bulls were on display for prospective buyers during BoonarkmÔÇÖs open day.Holding his first Stock Journal Beef Week field day was young Limousin breeder Will Viney. Mr Viney had eight rising two-year-olds for sale as well as two rising three-year-olds.Maximus Limousins was established in 2017, with a selection of Mandayen females. It has grown through embryo transfer, AI and the purchase of Warrawindi, Raven and Mandayen females.Some of the heifers of Maximus Limousins which were on display at Mount Compass.With one of their picks of the Poll Herefords are KilkerrinÔÇÖs Michael Cobb and Trish Worth, and new stud owner Paul East.Kilkerrin had had a busy morning at Mount Jagged, selling three of its 12 Poll Hereford bulls, 18-22 months old, and six of its nine PTIC heifers.The Kilkerrin stud will be under the ownership of Paul East from now on, a neighbour of current owners Trish Worth and Michael Cobb.With some of TooperangusÔÇÖs bull offering are farmhand Tim Greer, farm manager Ben Dennis and stud principal David Misan.Tooperangus Beef Cattle, Tooperang, is offering 22 Angus and 4 Speckle Park bulls during its online sale on Tuesday, February 11. Stock Journal Beef Week 2025 Day 2
17 studs across 16 locations opened their gates on the second day of Stock Journal Beef Week 2025.
Hitting the road and visiting all of the studs were Stock Journal's Alisha Fogden, Paula Thompson and Quinton McCallum, taking these pictures.
Stock Journal Beef Week 2025 will head to the Upper South East region tomorrow (Monday) where nine studs will be on display.
The week will conclude on Tuesday with 16 studs open in the Lower South East.
