Borrowed heifer from Walcha stud sweeps the field at Herefords' Youth Camp
Emma Godbolt, a fifth-generation Hereford breeder from Wodonga, has shown the intermediate champion heifer and later judged the grand champion exhibit at the Herefords Northern NSW Youth Camp for 2025.
The camp attracted 116 registrations, with a range of age groups, including peewee, junior, intermediate and senior to the Glen Innes showgrounds.
Led cattle judge Stephen Reid, Talbalba Herefords, Milmerran, Queensland, had 128 entries to examine, ranging from led steers to classes of led heifers with up to 16 in one age group.
He described the intermediate and grand champion, Yalgoo Belle Kashmir U263, which Miss Godbolt had borrowed from Jock Nivison and family's Yalgoo stud, Walcha, as the most complete and correct heifer on the day. The heifer was shown in the 16-month class and sired by Ke Warra Maxwell R156.

"She has beautiful capacity and heaps of quality," Mr Reid said.
Gemma White, Bundaleer, Barraba, with The Forest Harmony V288, showed the reserve champion intermediate heifer. It won the 12 to 14-month class and was sired by The Forest Frank.
"This heifer has a tremendous capacity, moves along well as an easy doing and functional heifer," Mr Reid said.
Miss White also showed the female senior champion, The Forest Cherry Ripe U272, sired by Willgoose Energise, paraded in the 17-month female class.
"The senior classes kept me working," Mr Reid said. "My champion was structurally correct, and that took the day.
In reserve was another from the 17-month class, Mondeo Coleen U007, sired by Mountain Valley Quirindi Q020 and paraded by Ivy McDonald from Maitland.
The junior champion female was Yarram Marinda V008, shown by Connor Duthie, Irvingdale, Queensland, which was a calf at-foot to the top-price cow at last year's dispersal of the Yarram Park Hereford stud, Willaura, Victoria.
