Big roll up for Hereford youth camp
Organisers register 116 young Hereford enthusiasts at Glen Innes camp.
Two days of Hereford showing were among the highlights at the Herefords Northern NSW Youth Camp 2025 in Glen Innes.
Friday was a day for educational talks about artificial breeding, basic ring etiquette, halter making, meat and genetics, ear-tagging and tattooing, and a conversation about Breedplan. There was also an inspection tour of Supple Herefords at Guyra.
Saturday morning was the junior judging program, and all 116 entrants competed in the Pee Wee, Junior, Intermediate, and Senior classes.
After lunch, the lead classes were evaluated under the clinical eye of Stephen Reid, Talbaba Herefords, Milmerran, Qld. Some big classes of heifers were also judged, with the supreme exhibit, a borrowed heifer from Yalgoo Poll Herefords, Walcha, taking the honours.
