Almost 500km west of Townsville and 406 kilometres east of Mount Isa, the median price of farmland for sale in Richmond was $120/ha in 2021, up a cumulative average (CAGR) of 19.2 per cent over the past five years.

The second most inexpensive farmland for sale was in Quilpie, 208 kilometres west of Charleville, and 980 kilometres west of Brisbane, with a median price of $129/ha (and a five-year CAGR of 18.2 per cent), followed by the Gulf town of Croydon ($157/ha, CAGR 30 per cent), Winton in the central-west ($203/ha, CAGR 3.2 per cent) and the south-western town of Maranoa ($395/ha, CAGR 8.9 per cent).
