Originally based on proven Angus females and high performing sires Yerwal Estate Angus Stud was established by Regan in 1998 with an underlying focus on structural soundness and longevity. Regan was attracted to the Angus breed because of its versatility into various climates and the breeds high marketability. Over many years clients have realised the progeny premiums from Yerwal Estate sires both in purebred and cross breeding programs.  

Based in Lucindale, South Australia bulls are bred and prepared to endure all seasonal climates. Preparation is focussed on “bulls being ready or work-that work” with selection pressure applied to ensure bulls are structurally sound, mobile and last the distance post sale day.

Originally based on proven Te Mania bloodlines, Yerwal Estate Angus females are matched with sires from high performing proven maternal lines. Longevity and performance are essential attributes for Yerwal Estate females as they need to deliver quality and consistent sale bulls year after year. 

Since the studs inception in 1998, original bloodlines have diversified and expanded through the use of influential AI sires and imported embryos.

This thorough genetic selection has developed a strong, proven, and consistent female breeding herd, with the capacity to produce high performing and structurally correct Angus sale bulls.

Renegade

Our exciting new sire, Renegade, is the son of the CAN$200,000 HF Alcatraz. Renegade is backed by generations of highly productive, sound made females, with his dam being amongst the best Discovery daughters in the breed. His H drop grand dam is still extremely sound and raising big calves. On inspection, Renegade displays outstanding body shape and overall dimension for a calving ease sire, while also maintaining that beautiful laid-in shoulder and calving ease front end that is of great importance. One of his strongest features is his feet and leg setup. 

Texas Quinella

We proudly introduce our new stud sire, Texas Quinella. Purchased for $48,000 from the Texas Bull Sale, we believe he will kick our stud operation into overdrive. He is quite a unique individual, and has impeccable feet and leg structure. He is as long as a train, with smooth made shoulders, strong top line, great hindquarter, and fantastic temperament to boot – but that’s only the tip of the iceberg. It’s his parentage where it gets really exciting.

His sire is the well-proven Baldridge Beast Mode, who is renowned for calving ease, high growth, and excellent feet. His dam is none other than Texas Undine H647, who just happens to be the dam of the record breaking Texas Iceman, sold for $225,000, and Texas Powerplay, sold to Kelly Angus in 2020 for $108,000.

His breedplan is also quite exceptional: + 7.8 for calving ease direct (excellent for heifers) through to top 1% of the breed for all growth traits finishing at +164 for 600 days; add this to his great carcass and structural data makes an extremely complete sire prospect. We eagerly await the chance to offer a large line of his sons in the future.
