About Vortex White Suffolk & Charollais

Established in 1989 by the Hooper family at Goorambat in North East Victoria, Vortex White Suffolk & Charollais Stud combines generations of sheep breeding experience with a commitment to producing practical, high-performing genetics for commercial producers. Building on a family stud breeding legacy that began in 1928, Vortex focuses on breeding White Suffolk and Charollais rams that deliver easy lambing, rapid growth, structural soundness and exceptional muscling. Genetics are carefully selected from leading studs across Australia and enhanced through artificial insemination, while maintaining a strong emphasis on visual appraisal alongside LAMBPLAN performance data.

Since introducing Charollais genetics in 2013, Vortex has developed a distinctive breeding program that combines the breed's renowned ease of lambing and hybrid vigour with the size, length and durability of White Suffolks.

Backed by an industry-leading animal health program and a focus on producing hardy, long-lasting rams, Vortex is dedicated to helping clients maximise lamb survival, productivity and profitability.
