Planchonella Hill Senepols was established by the Baker Family in 2002, using embryos and semen sourced from some of the top herds in the United States. We chose Senepol as a breed because of their heat tolerance, excellent carcase traits, temperament, fertility and ‘unrelatedness’ to 97% of cattle in Australia. The greater the genetic dissimilarity – the greater the hybrid vigour in the resultant crossbred cattle.
The aim of our bull breeding program is to breed highly fertile, functional and easy doing cattle that will finish in a feedlot and on grass or crop. The Senepol's temperament and carcase traits make their progeny sought after by lot feeders. Our bulls are proven to perform over various climate types, from the desert country of western NSW and QLD, through to the coastal areas of these states, including as far north as Katherine and Mackay, QLD.
Our Senepol stud is based in Northern New South Wales, just south of the Queensland border.
