At Overland Merino & Poll Merino Stud our objective is to breed a modern, easy care merino. This is achieved by focusing on key all purpose attributes including long white waterproof wools, early maturity, high fertility, and good doing ability with imperative carcass traits to meet today’s markets.
The Overland flock was established in the 1950s based on the Uardry bloodline. In the late 1980s, the introduction of the Roseville Park bloodline started. The Overland ram breeding operations begun in the 2000s, with the horn stud registering in 2011 and the poll stud in 2016.
With wool and livestock markets at a high, it is imperative to maximise profitability and productivity. An Overland client currently holds the National Merino Lamb record with their merino lambs achieving $420 per head. At current wool prices, these lambs provide a dual income opportunity worth over $500 per head. The ability to achieve this in under 12 months, provides options to maximise profitability depending on seasonal conditions. To complement this with high yielding white wool production, strong constitution, and early maturity with quick growth rates, showcases Overland’s predictability of breeding.
Our stud is located at “Overland” 797 Leafy Tank Road, Bogan Gate NSW. It is situated approximately 50km west of Parkes and 50km east of Condobolin.
Overland is hosting our inaugural Ram auction on Wednesday 9th September 2026. We will have 60 rams up for offer, with grades rams available after the sale day.
