About Kamilaroi Shorthorns

Calrossy has a long and proud history of involvement in the showing of livestock, both shorthorns and in particular steers. Winning Grand Champion Bull at the 2024 National show and Sale.
Kamilaroi Shorthorns was established in 2004 and operates from “Tangara” in Tamworth NSW. We currently run around 40 breeding cows. Most females are joined using semen donated and purchased from the leading sires each year, the heifers are backed up with our Kamilaroi yearling bulls. We also purchased a top-quality bull from the Morris family and will use him as our cover bull. At Kamilaroi we are focussing on structure, muscularity to breed great steers that marble well and softness to survive those dry time we all face today. Our bulls are moderate and functional that should all have great calving ease.
Each year we select those animals we believe to be our best; the bulls and heifers are shown at various events including Sydney Royal. This year we have 6 bulls and 1 heifer specifically prepared for Sale at the Dubbo National. They have all won ribbons at local shows and have proven to be outstanding temperaments that the students can handle with ease.
