Janmac Poll Dorset

WELCOME TO JANMAC

A proudly family owned & operated property, Janmac Poll Dorset & White Suffolk Stud is based at Goroke, in the West Wimmera region of Victoria.

The stud is run by the Hausler brothers; Grant & his wife Kerry; Bryce & wife Hannah along with Grant’s son, Carl Hausler with valued help from Travis Crawford.

A productive & diverse area, Janmac Stud produces a wide range of crops & livestock on approx. 1400 hectares selling around 210/220 Poll Dorset & White Suffolk rams at it’s annual On-Property Auction held each year in early October with private selections available after the sale.

The stud enterprise operates alongside a commercial prime lamb flock, with ewes bred from our Merino ewe base.

We have continued breeding Merinos, enjoying the production of quality wool from Glenlea Park Poll Merino bloodlines with recent infusions from Hannaton Poll Merinos.

Cropping comprises around 800 hectares of canola, wheat, beans, barley & oats with annual ryegrass, grazing oats & clovers sown for winter grazing.

POLL DORSET

From our foundation group of Poll Dorsets to the present day, Janmac Stud’s breeding objectives remain unchanged.

Our goal is to always bred well grown, highly muscled rams with the ability to produce quality sucker or heavy export lambs.

We continually invest in breed leading genetics from influential Poll Dorset studs ensuring our stock meet our client demands.

At a time when many breeds are competing for market share, we are confident the Poll Dorset breed provides consistent & outstanding performance in a wide range of regions & climates.

Often the simple tried & tested systems are the best.  As prime lamb producers ourselves, we know the type of ram required to produce quick growing, high yielding lambs.  Our clients & agents consistently report that Janmac sired lambs weigh & yield well.
