Three-state buyers' panel supports complete clearance for 5 Star Senepol

Another complete clearance was attained at Monday's annual 5 Star Senepol sale at CQLX, Gracemere.

A three-state buyers' panel supported the catalogue with solid demand from producers across a wide geographical area with intense online support.

Geoff and Alison Maynard and family, 5 Star stud, Jambin saw a complete clearance with their 53 Senepol bulls reaching $32,500 on the way to setting a $13,198 average, while 12 Senegus male counterparts hit $21,000, setting an $11,916 average.

The combined totals saw a complete clearance at auction for a bottom-line average of $12,961.

Last year Senepol bulls hit $30,000 to average $9027 while Senegus male counterparts hit $13,000 twice, setting a $9100 average.

The combined result saw a bottom-line average of $9038.

Sale topper at $32,500 this year was 5 Star 250059 (PP) purchased by Hewitt Agribusiness, Mudgee.

The 23-month-old youngster produced a scale weight of 700 kilograms, delivering muscle scans of 10mm and 7mm, respectively, for P8 and rib fat, 131 square centimetres for eye muscle area, and 5.6 per cent for intramuscular fat.

The top seller was ranked in the top 9pc for Rebreed GBV and the top 5pc for all three growth indices.

Hewitt Agribusiness took two for a $22,250 average.

The Chapman family, Rowanlea, Calliope secured two for a $23,000 average, which included the 22-month-old $24,000 5 Star 251107(PP).

Mark Bettini, Bettini Beef, De Gray Station, Port Hedland, WA, returned, taking six for an average $12,167, which topped at $15,000.

Long-term supporters, Alistair and Jo McClymont, Burleigh Station, Richmond were again active, securing another four for a $17,250 average, topping at $20,000.

Carl Greaves, Brisbane acting for S Kidman and Co Pty Ltd, Helen Springs, Tennant Creek, NT, secured five lots for an average $9600. This result included four Senepol bulls that topped at $12,000 to average $10,000.

Placing a solid floor in the market was Lorraine Pastoral Company, Lorraine Station, Cloncurry ending their day with four for an $11,500 average that topped at $18,000.

Another to return was Gulf Coast Agriculture Company, Inkerman Station, Yagoonya ending with a card containing two for an average $8500.

TMB Rural Contracting, Green Hills Station, Georgetown, owned by Troy Bradley, took a $9000 Senepol.

Also returning were Adam and Jacynta Coffey, Boreelum, Miriam Vale who selected a pair at $10,000 each.

Shane and Amanda Watts, Sonoma Station, Collinsville returned, taking three Senegus bulls for a $10,333 average.

Frank and Robyn Blacklock, Balootha, Julia Creek purchased a pair of Senegus for a $17,000 average.

This result included the top seller of that section, the $21,000 SSR 250527 aged 26 months and offered by Southern Star Rural, Canowindra, NSW.

Richard Burge and family, Rowena, Richmond ended with a trio of Senepols for a $17,000 average that topped out at $21,000.

Grant and Carley Burnham, Bonnie Doon, Monto selected two Senepols for a $12,000 average that topped at $14,000.

Nardoo Cattle Company, Nardoo, Anakie operated by the Backus family, picked up three Senepols ending in a $12,667 average that topped at $14,000.

Bowman Cattle Company, Lornavale, Marlborough took two for $11,500, topping at $12,000.
