Roan filly exceeds $100,000 at this year's CQ Performance Gala Yearling Sale

A roan filly fetched more than $100,000 at the 2026 CQ Performance Gala Yearling Sale, double that of last year's top.
The horse, Make it Reyn, was sold by Holly Clayden, Loomberah Lodge Performance Horses, Tamworth, NSW, and made $115,000. The buyers were Mick and Hayley Hughes, Delalah Downs Grazing, Surat, who bought the filly online.
Make it Reyn's sire is Dual Rey, and she is out of Norestforthewickd.
At the yearling sale in 2025, the top-price yearling was a black colt, Cantaur Park Vintage, sold by Mac and Gayle Shann, Cantaur Park, Clermont. It fetched $56,000 and was bought by Simmons Cattle Co, Clermont.
Held on Friday, March 27, this is the second year that the yearling sale has been held at Paradise Lagoon, Nine Mile, near Rockhampton, as part of the Ray White Rural Gracemere Performance Horse Sale and Campdraft.
For this year's yearling sale, the gross was $456,000, the average was $25,400 and the clearance rate was 58 per cent.
In 2025, 26 horses were offered in the inaugural yearling sale with 22 selling for a gross of $435,000, an average of $19,772 and a clearance rate of 84 per cent.
Of the fillies sold this year,12 sold for a clearance of 86pc, a gross of $326,000 and an average of $27,200.
For the colts, four sold for a clearance of 68pc, a gross of $95,000 and an average of $23,750.
The top-priced colt was sold by Kylie Graham for $35,000.
For the geldings, two sold for a 20pc clearance, a gross of $35,000 and an average of $17,500.
The top-priced gelding fetched $15,000 and was sold by Cameron and Kellie Bond.
