Repeat buyers seeking out tried and tested Thalabah genetics pushed the top price to a three-year high, with averages holding firm on previous years.
Sam Frost, Thalabah, said the sheep came up well through tough conditions, drawing in repeat buyers from across the district and further to the Central Tablelands and Vic.
"It's been a challenging season in many ways, but we think the rams have stood up well," he told attendees.
"We're very happy with the rams this year. Bright white, consistent, offerings with throught the entire draft ... that strong line of traditional Thalabah genetics come through the type and predictability that John worked so hard to build."
Repeat buyer Chris Croker, Ayrston, Golspie, said his Thalabah-blood flock were in pursuit of consistent growth, bringing himself and wife Stephanie back each year.
"I haven't cut five kilos clean yet, that's my goal," he said.
"We've increased the frame size and the quantity of wool that we're cutting, the quality of the wool has remained stable.
"If I can increase my wool cut as well at the same time, which is always the harder one to do, that's the trick."
