Three bulls sell for six figures early in the draft at Carinya Garglen Sale

Three bulls have sold for six figures at the Carinya Garglen Sale at Bouldercombe on Tuesday, October 28.

Garglen Benchmark reached the top price of the day, $105,000, when knocked down to Tony Hayne, Douglas Station, Katherine, NT.

He was a 26-month-old first-release son of homozygous retained sire Garglen S Benton, and out of Garglen X1798,

He was offered by the Bishop family, Moura, who has retained 100 per cent of Benton bred females.

Benchmark also boasted top six per cent 400-day growth estimated breeding values and top 15pc 200 and 200-day growth EBVs.

Not far behind, Garglen S Icon sold to the Scott family, operating as Yacamunda Investments, Collinsville, for $100,000.

Offered by Josh Bishop, Matt Bishop, and their families, Garglen S Icon was the 31-month-old horned son of Mr US Polled Evolution and NCC Silhouette.

Carinya M Stapleton also reached $100,000 and sold to the Kirk family of the Hazelton Brahman stud, Gayndah.

Carinya M Stapleton, offered by Matt Kirk, was the son of Carinya M Tombstone and Carinya M Sugarbabe.

He was 24 months old, horned, and weighed in at 929 kilograms.

Fierce bidding early saw five of the first 20 lots sell for $40,000 or more at the Glenlands Sale Complex.

Last year, the sale set a seasonal high of $170,000.

In the end, 84 of 90 bulls sold to average $16,827.
