Age and horn status weren't a point of difference at the 2025 Rockhampton Brahman Week Sale, according to Queensland Country Life data.

This masthead has crunched the numbers at the fall of the hammer and found 90 per cent of the 244 catalogued horned bulls sold and averaged $10,520, or around $806 less than heterozygous polled bulls.

Homozygous polled bulls still fetched a premium with a 94pc clearance and an average of $16,205 for 95 sold. This average was $1922 higher than in 2024, when 90 PP bulls were sold.

The average age of the catalogue in 2025 was 25.8 months, with 350 two-year-old bulls averaging $11,826, and 407 bulls 25 months and over averaging $11,664.

Around 35.74pc of the bulls that entered the ring were artificially bred, down 6.26pc on last year.

All but three of the 166 IVF-born bulls sold to average $14,800, while 78 AI-born bulls averaged $10,512, and ET-born bulls averaged $7571 for the 14 sold.

The median value in 2025 was $9000, up $2000 from last year.

Breaking down the average prices, almost twice the number of bulls sold for more than $30,000 this year than in the sale 12 months earlier.

There were 209 bulls (29.94pc) that made up to $5000, almost 5pc less than last year, while 222 head (31.81pc) sold for $5001-$10,000.

There were almost 5pc more bulls that sold for $10,001-$15,000 (119 head or 17pc).

Around 67 bulls (9.6pc) sold for $15,001-$20,000, 44 bulls (6.3pc) sold for $20,0001-$30,000, 20 bulls (2.87pc) sold for $30,001-$40,000, 16 bulls (2.29pc) sold for $40,001-$100,000 and one bull made over $100,000.

Even more impressive was the fact that the median or middle point rose from $7000 in 2024 to $9000 in 2025.

When it came to sires, sons of American bull Mr 4F Accelarator 7/6 averaged around the median $8931 in 2025 for 29 sold.

In the red section, 25 sons of the $120,000 Kariboe Valley Ventura average $16,880, while 12 Tarramba Topshelf progeny averaged $21,116.
