A Brangus bull with "sire duties written all over him" has sold for six figures at Comet today, Friday, October 3.

Lunar Urgent U285, a 27-month-old homozygous poll son of Pheasant Creek Mako and Telpara Hills Miss Vin Diesel, was knocked down for $100,000 to Hewitt Agriculture.

The top-selling Brangus sire weighed 854 kilograms with 11 and eight millimetre P8 and rib fat depths and a 138 square centimetre eye muscle area.

His intramuscular fat scan was 5.9 per cent with 40 centimetre scrotum, 80pc motility and 75pc morphology semen.

In the catalogue, vendors Brad and Briony Comiskey described the bull as having an "impeccable temperament, balance", and walked well.

All up, 66 of 68 bulls at this year's sale sold to an average of $14,621.

It was a major lift on the 2024 sale when bulls peaked at $19,000, and all 55 bulls were cleared for an average of $10,510.
