Repeat buyers clocked up the kilometres to travel from all corners of the state, and further afield, to secure Bundilla bloodlines for commercial and stud flocks, at the Bundilla Poll Merino sale on Wednesday, October 1.

Heavy fleece weights, strong growth and fertility were on the shopping list for buyers, who cited confidence in the recovering wool market as a sign of positivity for the industry.

New buyers also secured a standout stud ram, as competitive bids drove up prices for the top-priced ram, purchased by a repeat buyer.

Stud co-principal Rick Baldwin told attendees the 40th on-property sale was a generational effort.

"Dad and Mum set out on this endeavour a long time ago to provide the industry with an animal that had good maternal traits, with all the production traits that a Merino made the Australian industry so famous for," he said.

"They're very much 100 per cent Bundilla breeding here, no outside genetics represented."
