Major vertically integrated cattle business buys up at Triple B Brangus

Registered bulls sold to $25,000 while their purebred Brangus counterparts made to $18,000 at the Triple B Annual Production Sale, outside Dingo on Wednesday, October 1.

Vendors, Lindsay and Fiona Barlow witnessed a 90 per cent clearance at auction for the 71 of 79 bulls that sold for a bottom-line average of $10,563.

Last year, 63 bulls hit $26,000 on three occasions ending in an average of $10,016 for an 80 per cent auction clearance.

Rounding off this year's offering were 13 pens (130 head) of number five purebred commercial heifers, aged eight to 12 months, that sold to $2000 a head for an overall average of $1434 a head and a total clearance.

Last year 12 pens (120 head) sold to $1400 a head twice setting a $1213 average for a complete clearance.

Sale topper in the male section was Triple B Undoubtable U116 selling to Australian Country Choice, Brindley Park, Roma.

At 24 months, Undoubtable U116 (Belview First Class M177) weighed 756 kilograms, delivered a P8 and rib fat measurement of 13 and 7 millimetres respectively, an eye muscle area of 133 square centimetres and an intramuscular fat recording of 7.2pc.

Australian Country Choice were major players at the event taking nine for an average of $13,334.

At $19,000, Triple B Upstanding U263 sold to Lawson Dunne, LTD stud, Dingo.

The son of Riverview Xander, aged 23-months, weighed 778 kilograms, delivered a P8 and rib fat measurement of 10 and 7 millimetres respectively, an eye muscle area of 130 square centimetres and an intramuscular fat recording of 7.0pc.

At the same figure and late in the offering David and Prue Bonfield, Strathgarve, Dalveen secured the 24-month-old Belview Embassador M212 son, Triple B Uralla U142.

Uralla recorded a sale weight of 760 kilograms, delivered a P8 and rib fat measurement of 12 and 7 millimetres respectively, an eye muscle area of 126 square centimetres and an intramuscular fat recording of 6.7pc.

The top selling heifers sold to Ian Reid, Toonpan, who finished with two pens to average $1800.

Rob and Annie Donoghue, Baradoo, Moura also were one of the many repeat buyers with eight averaging $9375, topping at $14,000.

Regular supporters the MacKenzie family, Arizona, Dingo signed off on a card of three to average $13,333, topping at $16,000.

Bill and Louise Dunne and family, Tarcoola, Dingo secured two males for a $8000 average and two pens of heifers $1500 on average.

The Lansdowne family, Katherine River Pastoral Company, Southerwood, Willows Gemfields secured a pair of bulls for a $11,000 average while JAM Pastoral, Kui Downs, Capella returned for six bulls averaging $7500.

JR Connolly Pty Ltd., Uramo Station, Townsville signed off on five that topped at $16,000 twice to average $11,600.

Cobb Cattle Company, Mellaluka, Clermont bought five to average $12,000 with a top of $15,000.

YLE Grazing, Diaper Station, Kingaham took three for a $10,667 average while Andrew and Lucille Angel, Mossvale Station, Bowen returned to take a trio for a $9333 average.

Regulars, Shane and Amanda Watts, Collinsville returned taking three for a $8000 average, topping at $9000.

Bloss Hickson, Huntly, Rolleston returned and purchased four averaging $11,500 including the top selling purebred and sale opener for $18,000.

Jarrod and Leanne Deguara, Daunia Station, Nebo took three for a $10,667 average.
