RBWS live blog wraps up: clearance and average both rise at 2025 sale

Rockhampton Brahman Week has wrapped up with a lift in both clearance and averages.

The overall sale high was set on day one, Monday, September 7, when Tony and Kathryn Mortimer's Token Playboy sold for $120,000 to Peter and Joy Newman, Rathlyn Brahman stud, owned by Laglan Pastoral Company Pty Ltd, Emerald and Clermont.

He was a son of the $210,000 Clukan Baobab and out of the $30,000 NCC Jusitfied daughter Elrose Bling and boasted a 90 per cent morphology test.

Underbidder on the bull was Northern Vet Services, Goolalingo, NT.

On day two, prices peaked at $70,000.

A new top price for red bulls of $90,000 was set by Jileaba Webb, from Reade and Jill Radel, Injune, who was secured by the Sorley family, Mt Callan Brahmans, Dalby.

The largest bull sale in the southern hemisphere has reached a six figure price tag, just after midday on day one.

In 2024, prices peaked at $90,000 for red bull, Muan A Corvette 7788, who sold to Brian and Glenda Kirkwood of Somerview Red Brahmans, Charters Towers. There were 685 of 752 bulls sold, achieving a 91 per cent clearance and an average price of $10,061.
