Vendors of the Droughtmaster Diamond Genetics bull and female sale were more than happy with the result of the event held at the Silverdale selling centre on Saturday, September 27.

The sale, now in its third year, witnessed a packed selling barn and buyer interest online through StockLive, from Rolleston to Charters Towers.

All 29 females sold to a top price of $7500 to average $4275, while 15 of 20 bulls sold, topping at $9000 twice, to average $5666 and all nine commercial females sold to $3800 and averaged $2900.

Last year, the sale saw 22 of 34 bulls sell to $12,000 twice and average $5864, while 23 of 43 females sold to a top price of $10,000 to average $3696.

Topping the bull draft in 2025 at $9000 twice was Derek Mays, Tomawill stud, Templin.

Mr Mays was delighted to top the sale with sons of Wallace Vale Jonah, who was a consistent super sire in the making.

The 22-month-old Tomawill Isaac sold to Middlemount Range Pty Ltd, Sandy Creek.

Mr Mays said he was from one of their best females, Tomawill Blossom.

At the same money, Rebecca Farquhar, Calco Droughtmasters, Rolleston was successful bidding online, securing Tomawill Idol.

The 20-month-old was out of the matron, Tomawill Firefly.

Next at $8500 was Major Lorenzo, a homozygous polled son of Billabong Joey, who sold to Peter Bauer and Murray Pcock, Warralea Droughtmasters, Anthony.

Topping the stud heifers at $7500 was Cooly Lunar offered by Owen and Samantha Hams, Cooly Droughtmasters, St George.

She sold in-calf to Marylands Impulse to Roger and Jenny Underwood, Eversleigh Wallace Vale stud, Blantyre.

The Underwoods also paid $6000 for her stablemate Cooly Therese, who was also in-calf to Marylands Impulse.

The Underwoods loved the style of both heifers, and they would fit very well into their breeding program.

The couple have recently relocated to Birchgrove near Blantyre and are running about 45 females, while the balance of their breeding herd is still based on agistment country at Wallumbilla.

Unjoined heifers topped at $6500, including Nindethana Pippa, offered by Bronwyn Betts, Nindethana Droughtmasters, Pine Mountain.

TJ Bauer, Mt Walker, four females to average $3250, paying a top of $4500.

Sale spokesperson Jenny Underwood said the committee was very happy with the interest and attendance at the sale.
