A postcard-perfect day on the banks of the Murrumbidgee River welcomed a strong local contingent of buyers for the Bongongo Angus spring bull sale at Riverview, near Coolac, on Wednesday, September 24.

Buyers from Tas and Qld joined in the action, with the top-priced bull secured locally after competitive bids.

Stud principal Bill Graham shared his hopes for the season with attendees, coming off the back of drought conditions in the Riverina.

"This has been a very tough year in the south with our production systems. Personally, for myself and my brothers, this season is the toughest we've seen in our lifetime, for the winter," he said.

"It's good to see us moving forward, growing some grass and getting back into the right swing of things."
