Brangus breeders have the opportunity to secure high-quality genetics from some of the country's best studs at the 2025 Rockhampton Brangus Sale on October 13 and 14.

The flagship sale on the Brangus calendar features 244 bulls and 44 registered females, from vendors across Queensland and northern New South Wales.

Brangus Australia chief executive officer Nath O'Sullivan said the sale would have the same great quality that stud and commercial Brangus buyers have come to expect, with some new genetics from leading Brangus breeders.

Mick Madden, Earlwood Brangus, Duaringa, will offer five sons of Tannyfoil P79 (PP), whose four sons averaged $95,000 in 2024.

Edward and Kara Quinn will offer the first drop of bulls by Gunnadoo Park Mate (PP), the Roma Brangus Sale record holder purchased in 2022 for $64,000.

The most prolific sire in the catalogue is Bonox 1249 (PP) with eight progeny on offer from three prefixes, and a number of other sires have six or seven progeny on offer.

Weona Brangus, Leeville, NSW, will make the trip to Rockhampton for the first time in a number of years with their draft being led off by the 2025 Ekka grand champion Brangus bull, Weona Nebraska (PP).

The sale will feature six new vendors, including new breeders who will be offering their first bulls at public auction and some established Brangus prefixes who will be offering bulls at the sale for the first time.

"Be it to offer a small selection of bulls as a breeder grows their herd and profile within the Brangus breed, or as an outlet for the top-end bulls of a long-established breeder, this sale draws a large crowd of Brangus breeders, both seedstock and commercial and Brangus enthusiasts, providing a great opportunity for vendors to showcase their breeding programs," Mr O'Sullivan said.

"Previous sales have seen big spreads on cattle to all parts of Qld, NSW, into the Northern Territory, and on occasion, into Victoria, heading into a range of environments including coastal areas, scrub country and into the pastoral zone.

"Brangus are suited to a range of environments due to their fertility, hardiness and adaptability.

"They are known to consistently perform in a range of production systems and throughout the supply chain, be it on grass or in the feedlot, through to the consumer's plate."

The sale kicks off with the commercial sale at 12pm on October 13, followed by the female sale. The bull sale begins at 8am on October 14.

Females can be inspected from 10am on Monday morning, with a bull walk following the female sale and a meet and greet function, and Brangus Youth Auction on Monday evening.
