The South East provided good buying support at the Glen Devon on-property sale at Two Wells on Monday.

The sale average was on a par with 2024 at $1139.

Repeat buyer Andrew Skeer, of Chris Skeer & Co, Hatherleigh, paid the top price of $3000 for the opening lot of the sale.

Sired by Ulandi Park 519-2020, the ram was high on the terminal carcase production index at 138.0.

Buying for many years, Mr Skeer said he kept coming back to Glen Devon for the overall quality of their rams.

"They're good, long rams, and a good overall package," he said.

Mr Skeer said he was also buying for outside genetics to put into his family's Braesun Poll Dorset stud.

Volume buyers included long-term clients, the DiGiorgio family, Sterita Park, Lucindale, with 10 rams to $1800, averaging $1520.

The other major volume buyer was Adalis Pastoral, Snowtown, with 10 rams to $1400, averaging $920.

Mid North buyers included Trelawney Trading, Mintaro, six rams to $1200, averaging $933; and Everard Pastoral, Everard Central, with three rams to $1200, averaging $1066.

There were two new buyers at the sale this year.

One was GR Wilsdon & Co Pty Ltd, Gulnare, buying five rams to $1800 and averaging $1240.

The other new buyer was AJK Pastoral, Mount Pleasant, taking home six rams to $1200, averaging $933.

Glen Devon co-principal Lachlan Hart said, despite a tough first six months of the year season-wise, the rams had received plenty of feed and presented well.

"We're focused on producing great rams for the prime lamb industry," he said.

"Length and squareness are what we're looking for with our sheep.

"We also want to ensure out clients can turn off lambs with good weight."

Overall, 49 rams sold out of 89 offered.

The sale was conducted jointly by Nutrien and Elders, with Gordon Wood auctioneering.

Mr Wood said Glen Devon rams offered tremendous length of body, coupled with a great frame.

"They also have a tremendous ability to lay down meat and muscle and are very industry relevant," he said.
