Elstow Charolais stud at Baradine sold bulls to long-time clients during their annual sale last week.

Of the 30 lots offered, 22 sold to average $6772 and top at $15,000 for the powerful Elstow V8, from Palgrove Privilege, 930 kilograms at 18 months, with a 41 centimetre scrotal circumference and a 138 square centimetre eye muscle area.

Buyers Dennis and Jacqui Fitzgerald, Carmel at Baradine, who are enjoying a good season at the moment, will put this terminal sire to black baldy cows with progeny grown out to feeder weight.

"We have been impressed with Elstow bulls, particularly their quiet nature, their easy calving, and good growth," said Mr Fitzgerald, emphasising their performance qualities.

Two bulls sold to $8000, including the red factor poll Elstow Vince, the youngest in the draft at 16 months. He presented for sale at 805kg with a 36cm scrotal size and 125sqcm EMA.

This bull was sold to Ivan Price, Moongool Charolais stud at Yuleba, Qld.

The other $8000 sire, homozygous poll, was Elstow Uggies by Kenmere Lanz, 858kg at 20 months with a 43sqcm SS and a 132sqcm EMA.

He was sold to Devedna Farms at Casino, who won grand champion steer with a Charolais calf at the 2024 Casino Beef Week show steer sale.

The Elstow auction was organised by Nutrien Ag Solutions, Narrabri, with Hamilton Mortimer Agency, while AuctionsPlus handled the online bidding.
