Boorowa's Merryville Merino stud welcomed buyers from across the region, and south across the border, to their 26th annual on-property ram sale on Friday, September 12.

Strong local support pushed prices on the sale day, and stud co-principal George Merriman said it had still been a challenging season, with the area still drought-affected despite welcome rainfall in recent days.

"There's been pressure on the wool industry from the wool prices and the costs of producing commodities," Mr Merriman said.

"The costs are going up in any commodity, so we're not alone."

Despite the challenges, Nutrien Wool Boorowa's Nikki Gore said the rams had the classic Merino quality that keeps buyers coming back.

"It's a well-presented flock of rams this year, with some really beautiful wool types," she said.

"They're really soft handling, quite bright, and overall, just fantastic."

Supplementary feed, and keeping the rams dry in the new spring showers paid off, with a strong clearance rate, and rams headed across the border to Vic, and north to Guyra, Armidale, and Coonabarabran.
