Central Queensland beef producers will have a greater range of sires to choose from than ever before at this year's Ray White Barcaldine Bull Sale.

Now in its third year, the sale will happen at the Barcaldine Saleyards on Friday, September 26, from 10am, with 150 lots on offer in the Charolais, Simmentals (red and black) and Simbrah breeds.

This year's sale boasts nearly double the lot numbers of last year, showing a strong confidence in the sale and the region.

Ray White Longreach principal and livestock consultant Bill Seeney said there was an overall driving force behind the idea of the sale.

"We are trying to get quality bulls up into this part of the world," Mr Seeney said.

He said rather than have cattle producers driving for hours to get to a sale, the Ray White Barcaldine Bull Sale brings high-quality and reliable bulls to their doorstep.

This year's line-up will see vendors from South Australia, Victoria and of course, Queensland.

Mr Seeney said once upon a time, there were a lot more bull sales in central Queensland, but as they have decreased, the need to provide an opportunity to invest in quality beef bloodlines has made the annual sale even more important.

He said the sale had fostered repeat buyers who have indicated they would be returning this year.

This year's vendors (see below) bring considerable depth of breeding within their specific breeds, backed by established reputations.
