A cracking 69-lot draft has been selected for the 33rd Heartland Santa Gertrudis Bull Sale on Wednesday, September 10, from midday at the Roma Saleyards.

In all, seven group vendors and two invited vendors have drafted 66 bulls, including 50 Classified S registered bulls and 14 commercial bulls, along with three Classified S heifers for this year's sale

PJH Livestock sale agent Steve Goodhew said all lots for the 2025 sale had been inspected.

"We have a good lineup, and we believe there will be a bull to suit everyone," Mr Goodhew said.

"Across the eastern coast markets, we've seen prices holding firm and cattle weighing well, so we're holding high hope of a good sale result. Now is a great time to trade old bulls in for younger bulls with good genetics."

By sale day, all bulls will have been semen and morphology tested, and breeding soundness evaluated. This information will be on the supplementary sheet available on September 10.

Last year's Heartland sale was met with strong support throughout the Maranoa, Warrego and Western Queensland.

Mr Goodhew said confidence was improving across the region.

"With recent rain after a cold winter and with more follow-up predicted, we are looking towards a great spring and summer."

In a lovely gesture, the White family, Beefwood Stud, will donate the proceeds of lot 68 heifer, Beefwood Tuscany T15, to support Rural and Remote Mental Health, in honour of their "dear friend and fellow passionate Santa Gertrudis breeder" Sharon Seawright.

As a bonus, for every bull or female purchased, the buyer will go in the draw to win half a tonne of Riverina Show and Sale Pellets. This draw will be conducted at the end of the sale.

Inspections of the cattle can be arranged with individual studs before the sale, and all lots will be yarded at the Roma Saleyards from the afternoon of Monday, September 8, for those wishing to get a closer look at the lots on the grounds.

Those who're unable to make the trip to Roma on sale day can bid from home online via the Stocklive platform.

The catalogued lots can be viewed on the Heartland Santa Gertrudis website.
