Uralba White Suffolks recorded a pleasing result at their on-property ram sale at Kielpa, near Cleve, on Wednesday last week, selling all of the 79 rams offered.

The offering made to a top of $2200 and an average of $1065.

This was a very healthy result considering last year Uralba sold 81 rams of 96 offered to a top of $2000 and average of $922.

Stud principal Paul Dolling said he was content with how the day went.

"I didn't know how much demand was going to be around, so I was happy with the fact that we were able to sell them all," he said.

"I dropped the numbers down and still wasn't sure if I'd be able to sell them all. I think in the end everyone got what they came for."

The top price of $2200 was achieved at Lot 6, purchased by BD Lienert & Partners, who secured two rams in total.

The ram had the highest figures in the sale for growth, with a post weaning figure of 19.8.

It also had figures of 0.5 for birthweight, 12.6 for weaning weight, a Pfat measurement of -1.0, terminal carcase production index of 151.9 and weighed 112 kilograms.

The volume buyer on the day was Almond Grove, who purchased eleven rams, at an average of $600.

Other notable buyers included Jalebro Park, Darke Peak, and MA&GM Noble, who both took home seven rams, at an average of $1257 and $800 respectively.

Belowie Pty Ltd purchased six rams, averaging $733.

Buyers were predominantly repeat local clients, with some rams heading further afield to Smoky Bay, as well as to a couple of clients in the Jamestown district.

The sale was auctioneered by Nutrien's Gordon Wood, who said the sale was well supported by a loyal client base.

"It was a great clearance of a slightly reduced offering," he said.

"It was well supported by mostly repeat buyers, with a couple of new faces in the shed as well."

He spoke highly of the line-up on offer.

"The sheep presented really well, typical of Uralba, big strong meaty White Suffolk rams," Mr Wood said.

"They'll definitely do a job for the people that bought them.

"They've got really good growth data, and provide a good blend of rams to suit those buying off the data, as well as others who are more visual."
