A stunning selection of 68 bulls has been catalogued for the fifth Carnarvon Classic Droughtmaster sale on Thursday, September 4, from midday, at the Rolleston Livestock Selling Complex.

The Oasis, Huntly, Calco and Karragarra studs represent a progressive and fair dinkum "no fuss" sale group focused on presenting a premium article to Carnarvon and surrounds, which is reflected in the 36 registered bulls and 32 herd bulls hand-picked for this year's sale.

Sale coordinator Jane Barton said reliable quality, proven history, and market-driven seedstock were what underpinned the values that united these four Central Queensland Droughtmaster studs to create the Carnarvon Classic.

"This year's selection of bulls is as stylish and impressive as what has been offered previously, if not more so," Mrs Barton said.

The popularity of the Carnarvon Classic among buyers was clear at the 2024 sale, where all but two of the 62 bulls offered sold to average $10,935, and gross $678,000, while the top price record was rewritten when Calco Honky Cat sold for $44,000.

Adding appeal to the sale are the buyer incentives being offered, with the purchaser of the highest priced select sire, the highest price registered bull, the highest priced herd bull, and the bulk buyer of the sale to each receive a $1500 voucher from Virbac. Additionally, one lucky bid card holder will take home a six-litre Yowy cup.

Those who're unable to make the journey to Rolleston for the sale can bid online from home via Stocklive.

All bulls selected for this year's sale will be available for inspection at the saleyards from 2pm on Wednesday, September 3.

The catalogue can be viewed on the sale website.

Mrs Barton invites all in attendance to join with the vendors and agents post-sale for complimentary drinks to celebrate the day.

"I'd like to thank LAWD, Virbac, Blue Ribbon Stockfeeds, Rolleston Ag Traders, Zoetis, WFI, Elders, ANZ, and Z Tags Datamars for their support of this year's sale."
