Heifer, 13 months, sells for six-figure sum at Marble High Wagyu Sale

A 13-month-old heifer has sold for a six-figure sum at the Marble High Wagyu Sale in Toowoomba on Wednesday, August 20.
Arubial V0812 was knocked down to GeneFlow Proprietary Limited, Deniliquin, NSW, for $350,000, just shy of the national record for a Wagyu female of $400,000 paid at the Elite Wagyu Sale in Melbourne in 2022.
She was offered by Laird and Sonia Morgan, Arubial Wagyu, Condamine, who described her in the catalogue as the "pinnacle of quality".
She was the first female offered at auction by Arubial T1701, whose dam was considered "one of Arubial's most elite donor females".
The $350,000 heifer sat in the top one per cent of the breed for Breeder-Feeder Index ($716), marble score (+4.3) and marble fineness (+0.66).

GeneFlow is no stranger to spending big dollars, having outlaid more than $1.29 million worth of Wagyu at the multi-vendor sale in 2023.
So far in 2025, they have also paid $80,000 for Arubial V1556 and $50,000 for Arubial V0358, both heifers.
They purchased four lots of semen from Arubial VO852 for $48,000 a straw and an additional four lots from Arubial U1945 for $32,000 each.
The top price bull at $130,000 was Arubial V1374 which sold to G Morgan and Co, Myall Grove, Condamine.
The sale was being conducted by GDL and Ray White Livestock Dalby.
More to come.
